Privacy Policy
Your Privacy:
Defending your privacy and safeguarding nonpublic personal information has long
been of the utmost importance to your Credit Union. The fact is not all
financial instititions placed such high priority on your protection, which
contributed to Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Title V becomes
effective on July 1, 2001 and addresses how financial institutions and others
safeguard your nonpublic personal information, in short it helps protect your
privacy. It is your Credit Union's intent to comply with all applicable laws
and regulations concerning the management of your nonpublic personal
information. This policy outlines the purposes for which member information
will be collected by and released outside of your Credit Union.
Information Collected:
Your Credit Union will collect that information necessary to establish an
on-going relationship with members and joint account holders. Information on an
individual member may be collected from a variety of sources, including but not
limited to your signature card, credit applications, and credit bureau reports.
In addition, your Credit Union will take reasonable precautions to protect the
accuracy and reliability of that information.
Information Shared with Affiliates & Third Parties:
Your Credit Union will not sell nonpublic personal information to a third
party. Your Credit Union may however disclose nonpublic personal information
about an individual member or members in order to effect a transaction, to
protect the Credit Union's interests, or for other purposes permitted by law or
regulation.
Third Party Privacy Standards:
Your Credit Union will only disclose nonpublic personal information about its
members to affiliates and third parties who demonstrate a consistent commitment
to the protection of the confidentiality of that member information, and who
have adopted privacy policies compatible with those of your Credit Union.
Security & Confidentiality:
As part of your Credit Union's commitment to protect the confidentiality of
member account information, it has established procedures for periodic training
of staff members on the importance of privacy and your Credit Union's privacy
policy. Credit Union staff will only access member account information when
necessary for business reasons.
Availability of this Policy:
Your Credit Union is proud of its commitment to member confidentiality an will
make this policy available to any member or potential member through literature
racks in its offices and on its Internet home page.
