As a Movement, we carry each other in times of need, which is why the Ohio Credit Union Foundation sent $10,000 in disaster relief to CUAid’s “Tropical Storm Harvey Relief” Fund on behalf of Ohio’s credit unions. CUAid, operated by the National Credit Union Foundation, is working with the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation to distribute the funds to affected credit union employees and members in Texas impacted by the destruction caused by Tropical Storm Harvey.

Disaster relief is one of four pillars of the Foundation’s grantmaking mission. In 2016, the Foundation contributed a total of $20,000 to four disaster relief needs, helping credit unions and their staffs and members in Louisiana, North Carolina, and West Virginia after local flooding and in Ecuador following an earthquake. Earlier in 2017, OCUF granted nearly $5,000 in disaster relief aid to a southwestern Ohio credit union damaged by a tornado.
